360 Civic Leadership Assessment

Welcome to the 360 Civic Leadership Assessment provided by the Kansas Leadership Center.

The 360 assessment will help you understand how you and others perceive your competencies when exercising leadership in various situations and arenas. The survey is based on the KLC’s Four Competencies of Civic Leadership – Manage Self, Diagnose Situation, Intervene Skillfully and Energize Others. If you would like to learn more about the Four Competencies, KLC’s Theory of Civic Leadership and KLC programs, you can read more here.

This 360 assessment tool is a standard element of most KLC programs.

This tool contains two parts:

Part 1:  Provide name and email for six to eight observers that you wish to complete the peer assessment survey on your behalf.

Your selection of observers is very important! Choose observers with different perspectives who can provide objective feedback from their experiences with you. This should include those who may see you in a positive light as well as those who may be more critical. Examples of individuals include, but aren’t limited to, a boss, colleague, client, staff member, board member, or peer.

KLC will send an Observer Assessment survey to those individuals you select. Their responses will be collected and summarized by a third party to maintain confidentiality. Contact your observers letting them know that they will be receiving this request from KLC.

Part 2: A self-assessment survey containing 40 statements each requiring a response on a six point scale.

We will send you a link to the survey which will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

Receiving your results:

After you take the survey and all results are in, we will develop a detailed report with your specific results and we will lead you through a process to interpret them. These reports are completely private and only you will see your individual results. You will not see the observer’s individual responses; they will be compiled and averaged. The data is collected by a third party and processed by a staff person at the KLC and printed by a third party.
