Uniqueness of KLC

Objectives of KLC

The Kansas Leadership Center (KLC) is a leadership development organization with the charge of cultivating civic leadership throughout Kansas. It is unique among leadership development organizations because of its statewide scope, focus on civic leadership and significant financial support.

The Kansas Health Foundation (KHF) established the Kansas Leadership Center in 2007 through a 10-year, $30 million investment as a gift not to the KLC, but to the people of Kansas. Click to read more about the History of the KLC.

Further, we aspire to promote, incorporate and model a philosophy of leadership that reflects Kansas civic culture. The KLC, therefore, chose to develop its own theory and description of civic leadership based on a thorough understanding of the civic challenges facing Kansans. A good mission and a long-term vision guide any successful non-profit. Our faculty, board and staff have spent countless hours exploring which direction the KLC should go. Click to find our Vision, Mission and Core Objectives of the KLC.
